Here in my room,where I lay,
Warm within it's confines.
While the world without grows cold and black.
As the skys continue to blacken.
Till all that can be seen are the dark outline of barren trees.
And the glitter of an empty moon,
Upon a pond of Ice.

No birds stir within the branches of the barren trees.
No signs of life beneath the icy waters.

But here within the warmth of my room,
Beneath the bright and friendly lights.
I sit with the hum of the sound of life around me.
My family in the other room,
The sound of a cat softly purring beside me.

I am safe within my room.
Where I sleep, soundlessly.
Contributing no sounds to life the life around me.
Except my gentle breathing.

Safe from the cold outside.
Warm until the waking times.
When all must face the world again.

And so the cycle continues.
