| So those Haven spears were freaking awesome at War. Post your opinions on the most effective use and construction of the spear in Dag. _________________ Guardian Realm Administrator haven@dagorhir.com"Or I will Moderator all your butts laugh do a little dance and eat a scone" -Turrin barTurrin |

| In my experience, the spear is most effective when used in a stabbing manner. |

| light spear = effective spear and our spears are light for how long they are. also i admit that i wasn't crazy about the color scheme but after seeing them in war and hearing others say how intimidating it is to have all of them match, it has grown on me. _________________ There ain't no rest for the wicked

| I know I'm not a foamsmith, but I did want to voice my opinion anyway, so... ^.^; I thought they looked silly at first. And then when they were on the field, I thought they looked absolutely awesome, because they were so easily distinguishable from everyone else's spears. Not only that, but I think there were more Haven spears on the field than any other. Even people who weren't members of Haven were wielding them-- and if they weren't wielding them, they were dying by them repeatedly. In short, I loved the spears, and I'm proud of all you guys for pumping out 6 or 7 of them in the span of just a few days. (: _________________ I am because I need to be.

| They sucked. one of them might possibly still have my man-hood attached to it.... They were awesome. The heads looked abit large, but that seemed ot aide in thier stability. _________________ Making money the old fashion way...killing for it.

| They need names. things in mythology often come in sets of 3, 7, and 9. Thus I think we need to name them after the nine different (something awesome)'s or the three (something awesome)'s and the seven (something awesome)'s Does anyone know of any sets of cool mythological things that come in sets of 3's, 7's or 9's? for example, the nine riders, the fellowship of the nine, the nine worlds in Norse cosmology, the nine planets, the seven days, etc. personally, I'm leaning towards nine, because there's a good chance that one of the cores will end up being something else. |

| It has no relevance to Dag, but I kind of like the names of the nine homeworlds of the loyal space marines in 40k: Baal, Caliban, Fenris, Terra, Macragge, Mundus Planus, Medusa, Nocturne, and Deliverence Honestly, those might be too cheesy, but I'm not sure I want the theme of our names to be completely obvious. Also, the Ringwraiths probably won't work, as only 2 have canon names. |

| Make names up. Give every spear a meaningful name all to itself, and then collectively call those the Nine Something-Or-Other. For example: Deliverence, Absolution, Justice, Vindication, etc. etc. Come up with nine of them and collectively call them something badass. Just an idea. _________________ I am because I need to be.

| We could call them the Hands of Fate, for their reach is long and they forever change the lives of those they touch. _________________ I shed a tear for every drop of blood drawn by my blade. Why we seek peace through death and murder, I will never know.

| I like all of these ideas At some point in the future, I would like to make a set of large matching haven shields to go with them, in which case the god/goddess pairing or something similar would be awesome. I like the imagery of "hands of fate" Something about nine hands seems a little off, but I like where that idea is going. I wouldn't want them to seem evil, so the Nazgul wouldn't make a good nameset anyway. I've just noticed that Tolkien often has things in sets of nine. I think names related to their original owners is definitely the way to go. I like the idea of naming them after gods or titans, or abstract concepts like justice, deliverance, etc. Maybe the theme shouldn't be too obvious, but I do think the names ought to relate to each other in some way. I think the 40k space marine names are great starting points, since they each have roots in exactly the kind of folklore and mythology that I'm talking about. |

| Some of the names for the shields seem a bit cheesy to me. Perhaps if they were translated into some other language it might sound cooler. _________________ I shed a tear for every drop of blood drawn by my blade. Why we seek peace through death and murder, I will never know.

| Yeah, we should get some Freelang dictionaries for obscure languages, and pick some cool words, we can name all of our spears in Tongan, or Phoenician, or Norse, etc http://www.freelang.net/dictionary/index.php#listeHere's their full list of free dictionaries |
