I have looked around quite a bit and I'm quite startled to find no work exists that details the culture of Haven. In an effort to correct this I would appreciate any information that the current residents of Haven could tell me or things they have heard of in the past.
The only subject I have found in detail is one of the bigger taboos of Haven. On Sunday it is extremely frowned upon to take the Lord's name in vain and even more frowned upon to petition the Lord to rise in furious anger on Sunday. These seem to be a mix of christian and pagan traditions dating back long ago. It was thought that since Sunday was the Lords day of rest he could hear petitions to him and the calling of his name much easier on that day. When Christianity was introduced to the region this taboo combined with the local pagan tradition of The demon of Red Mountain. It was said that every 10 days the demon would grow agitated if people said his name to much he would break out of the mountain the devour the people below. This seemed to be an explanation for the shakings of the earth. It seems the only "fix" to this taboo is to give a severe beating to the individual who broke it. This fix was not recorded in any tome but through an accident of my own and with the help of some of Haven's drunks it appears to be the only consistent fix.
