| Here are two major Gates posts. The first is the important one, underage attendance and underage cought drinking or over age supplying. The second is basic, find somewhere and vollunteer, help make the even awesome for all. - Quote :
- So here's the update on the minor attendance/ drinking situation:
1. A minor (anyone under the age of 18) will have a special waiver (as yet to be finalized) that will give someone 21+ tempoary guardianship of them for the course of the event. A guardian will be allowed to have 3 minors under their guardianship at the event. 2. Any minor caught drinking will be removed from the event ALONG WITH their guardian, yes this also means that any other minor that is with said guardian will have to leave too. This is not meant as a punishment to minors that have not broken drinking rule/law, if your guardian is gone you have no guardian there (this is meant to help with policing each other). 3. Anyone of age caught giving a minor alchohol will be removed along with said minor( refer to 2 at this point).
Again, this is not meant to punish those minors not breaking rule/law just an extra measure to try and help keep OUR (yes I mean ALL of Dagorhir in this) events safe and stop another situation as what happened at War from happening again.

- Here's an update for everyone, as well as information on who you need to contact about different aspects of the event this May and openings that I need volunteers for
First of all, I've got both Sir Gump and Reikoku who are both helping me run this. They'll be who anyone who heads up a category reports back to. Anything with 'EMPTY' next to it means I need a 'head' for that department. As it stands right now I've got the following:
Reikoku in charge of:
Troll (Mystic of DUS)
Courtesy Patrol (Orrin None-Son of Ravenwood)
Tiki Torches & Sign postings (EMPTY)
Dry Party (Orrin None-Son of Ravenwood) & Bardic (tent. Devon of DUS)
Parking and Car Flow (EMPTY)
Event Tokens (Reikoku & Krystal of DUS)
Sir Gump in charge of:
Battles*
Heralding (Crimson of DUS)
Weapons Check (Pantar of DUS for Melee & Hippy of DUS for Flight)
Tournaments (Nox & Deverbero of DUS)
Trash & Camp Check-Out (Devlin of DUS)
Merchant's Row (Witesh of DUS)
Medic (Oberon of DUS)
Tiki Torches & Sign Postings: The head for this needs to ensure that the tiki torches get posted along the creek as well as in the Sacred Grove. They also need to oversee and make sure the event signs get posted along the highway and subsequent roads so that people can find the event.
Parking and Car Flow: This is a very basic responsibility. You just need to ensure that people don't have too many cars back in the campsites (Usually no more than a total of three at a time - or none at all if the weather is against us) and that the cars park where they're asked to so that no roads get blocked off and people can come and go freely.
Battles: Battles are currently going to be "run" on a day-to-day basis. As it stands right now, we have the following:
Thursday Pick-Up Battles (Gump & Shard of DUS)
Friday Day Battles (Gump of DUS)
Friday Night Battles (Slayer and Lucifer of DUS)
Saturday Field Battles (Gump of DUS)
Sunday battles, due to Mother's Day falling on the same day, are currently up in the air. If we get enough interest we can potentially do some stuff on Sunday but that's liable to be decided at a later date.
For anyone running a tournament, class, or any other event that you'd like placed on the official event schedule.. PLEASE get in contact with the appropriate people. (Tournaments to Dev and Nox, Classes to Witesh, and other events to myself) so that we can include them on the schedule. The FINAL event schedule will be posted on April 10th, 2010 after the camp clean-up in Holden that day. ALL event coordinators are required to get me their information no later than April 4th so that I have the week to plot things into place.
I believe all people (with the exception of Oberon of DUS) can be contacted via the Midwest Boards.. if you attempt to contact someone and do NOT get a response within 7 days, please send me a PM and I can pass information along as it's needed. Right now I do not have a set time as to when pre-registration will be opening but I'll get that information posted here as soon as I get it.
FYI... last I looked, Target was having a clearance sale in the camping supply department Tents, camp cookware and more... incase anyone needs to replace things before Gates.

| If those words make it into the waiver, it makes it ok if you're 19 or 20 to drink and not get punished on events. |

I don't know if I'd say that. I think it just means that people who are 18, 19 or 20 will get kicked out too, they just won't have a guardian or other people under that guardian who will get kicked out with them. At least, I think that's what it was trying to say. They said they're working out the details, but with multiple definitions of "minor," the post above is a bit unclear. |

| What CP are you talking about.
At events CP = courtesy Patrol. Which is a nicer way of saying security. |

| There's no need to explain what you were referring to, Crux. And to Orrin; I have to apologize to you, I don't believe Haven will be able to make this war. As I understand it, the Date chosen for Gates is the weekend immediately before we take our Finals in Rolla. We're pretty much all College students, and I doubt very many can afford not to spend that weekend studying. We'll try to get them to move it to another date, but I don't know if they will. I realize this is probably going to make us look pretty bad, but our hands are a little tied. If we can't go, I hope you're still able to get the help you need for CP. |

| So, I was on the Midwest boards following the Gates VII thread over there, and it seems like we're pretty much all in the same boat. A large portion of Dagorhir is college-age, and has finals near that weekend. It's looking like it's just going to be a smaller event. It is Disappoint, but I don't think there's anything they can do about it. |

| But, there is a much larger number of eastern players coming. The outside Missouri presence will be larger then ever before. |

| You don't have a choice. I'll kill you. For serious.
I can make a call and see what I can do, but no promises. |
