Beginning of School year event

Who would be interested in a Back-to-school haven bash? This idea has been tossed around a bit on the Facebook group, and I wanted to bring it to the Forums as well.

Looking at dates I was kinda thinking about September 9th.. What's everyone's thought on that?

War of the Iron Fist VIII is the 9th -11th, and I'd sort of like to go to that instead of the alternatives that are a further drive. So if the date were War weekend, I wouldn't go.

With that said, if the back to school bash were before War, then I'd be totally up for it.

I would like to see it the weekend of the 3rd or 4th of September, since that Monday is Labor Day which gives us an extended weekend. Then that next weekend, the 9th - 11th is War. Its pretty close to one another, but if the back to school event isn't anything major, it'd be a good way to get everyone pumped and prepared for the event.

I vote both. Bash before War, and War. Just as long as the organization is better for War,, I'm game.

Just to update: On the facebook it's been pretty much decided that this will be taking place on Labor Day weekend. It will start Friday night and end Sunday morning. Probably it will take place at Lane Springs, but that's not a for sure thing yet. This will be a HAVEN ONLY event this time around, so to any of our friends from other realms who might be reading, I'm sorry. All I can say is check back next year, because if all goes well, there's a potential for an annual Haven event. (:

More info to come as I hear it or as others post it before I do.

If by travel you mean distance and carpooling, yes and no. We'll only be going about 20 minutes outside of Rolla, but we will be carpooling. Sleeping, yes, bring a tent if you have it and be willing to share with someone else if they don't, please. (:

If invading Mizzou is named so, then yes. otherwise, I have no idea what Stonewater Marches is.

Stonewater Marches is the Dag chapter in Columbia. MU Boffer club is the Bel group on campus.

Not many. MU Boffer might have 15 active members (like us), Stonewater marches might have 4-6 active members (says MU boffer).

Ok, but I was talking about our Haven bash. I should have been more specific in my question.

My guess is that we will ask how many of our members are going to the beginning of school year event at our first practice?

Yeah since a lot of people don't check the forums or FB. On the facebook event we have 12 people so far. I think general thought is we will get about 25 people, not certain yet though.

Well, unless homework and other such things get in the way, you can definitely count me in!
