| So I have finnaly gotten around to making a spear, I have wanted one since before War and the light weight blue spear finnalized the need for one. My question is how do you guys make your spear tips? I used a football and it seems to big. Tips on making it smaller? | |

| The blue spear that I made and you used at War was a fiberglass taekwondo bo-staff. As for the tip, I had a block of unifoam (very dense open-cell) that I used for the tip to make it minimum diameter. Sadly, I no longer have the unifoam ;;; | |

| Is Unifoam by any chance a grey foam? If so I may have some left over from arrows around here somewhere | |

| It should be grey in color, the foam I used was a dark charcoal grey and almost black. | |

| http://www.canalrubber.com/high-density-gray-foam.htmlYou can get it here. They have various prices. What you'll want for spear tips I imagine would be the 4", or the 2" thick blocks. With a square foot of 4", you could theoretically make 16 spearheads. For arrows, the 2" or 3" blocks. Likewise, with a square foot, about 16 arrowheads. | |

| If you use a nerf football and wrap the outside of it with one layer of blue foam to cradle it and keep it from tearing off, the head should wind up being a pretty standard width. as far as making it smaller: use a thinner core, use less incidental padding, and that's about as much as I know to say. | |

| Does the Unifoam compress easily? The stuff I had didn't compress easily but when used on arrows absorbed the impact instead of transferring it | |

| Unifoam characteristically does not compress easily. | |

| Cool, I will try and get some more. In the mean time here is what the spear looks like: Tiny arrow points to 1 inch core | |

| Dangar. I'd recommend the spear tutorial from Eryndor.com. You can use low grade opencell and it still works beautifully. | |
