Because I know how much we all love to discuss events after the fact. And because that discussion doesn't belong in the upcoming events section.

Also, I really enjoyed this War, and I really enjoyed camping. I hope in the future that more people will camp with us, and that we will be organized enough to be able to enjoy ourselves camping as a large group.

oops, already posted in the upcoming section... oh well. this war t'was fun!
....but there were a few things i was sad about. first off too many bridge battles! i kept waiting for just a good ol big field battle with two teams. also i was sad the trebusay (i know i spelled it wrong) didn't play that much of a role, to be honest i completely forgot about it during the fighting, even during the battle it was supposed to be firing constantly.

Me too. @.x;

I also was really, really irritated with the amount of bridge battles that we had. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love to fight a bridge battle. But we seriously fought three variations of them-- more than half the day's fighting. As a red fighter, it's definitely not my #1 choice of a battle to have fun in, so I'm really, really hoping Dominion won't do that again.
I'm also not a real big fan of the thermopoly battle, but I definitely did like the additions they made to even the odds. I was very appreciative.

i think it would be fun to do a battle where shields are unbreakable, and then later one where only one red hits breaks a shield to even things out....but yeah when ur fighting a hand picked group that has stone skin, it is totally unfair if their shields can't be broken

That got dropped. anyone who told you the shields were unbreakable this time, lied. I know who set up that battle. They got all the ideas for it from me. And the bridge was to represent the narrow confines of hte mountain pass in hte REAL battle. So, arrows should not have been aloud over the edges, but then it woulda REALLY been wrong.

I also wanted you all to know that the whole incedent with Rellin is under double investigation.

#1Domionon/mordor are trying to find out who gave him the strong stuff. Neither of those 2 drinks are at the Bar in mordor, so it had to be omeones personal stash they gave him.

#2 I am doing my thing and finding out what I can. I am NOT happy with what they did to him. and I intend to make DAMNED sure that a lesson gets tought more than just a dag slap on the wrist.

And to those of you who knows what this means. I am hoping to make Clan vrs Haven the next gaurd vrs Narnia thing.

Who is Rellin? I think I must have missed something significant somehow. I've never been introduced to this person I don't think.

I also want to publicly applaud Logar for having the AWESOME idea of Haven-only tournaments. I had so much fun watching and/or participating, and from what I've heard from other people they feel the same way. I hope we can make that an annual thing. (:

That is an understatement. He was starting to exhibit the early signs of alch-poisoning.

Ya, Relan was the only name I knew for him. When they asked him where he belonged, he said something along the lines of 'It's like a bird and a tree. the grey guy let us stay." So they dropped him off at Ravenwood. We forced water and bread down him to purge his stomache. The guys who get the thanks for caring for him are Axis and Lilia (the oompa loompa couple), And Worthane Rowanheart + his crew.

They did the hard work.

Gives new meaning to the phrase "One does not simply walk into Mordor"
Or rather, lends weight to the old meaning.

Seriously though, I'm glad there are people who appreciate the gravity of how bad that situation was. There have to be consequences for that kind of behavior, or it will only get worse. If that kind of thing continues to escalate, I could see a future where Haven will just skip War and Gates altogether. Of course, Haven's is a dry camp, and I would venture to say that as long as people camp with us, they have nothing to worry about. Next time, we'll try to get there earlier, so that the sober people have somewhere to hang out both nights.

I am posing a propasition to dominion that might help out ALOT in the future. and tehn I will pose it to Dag as a whole to see about maybe installing it into the handbook (not MoA).

at camp-outs, dry camps should hang a universal sign of the fact that alchy is not welcome. Mabe a two stage thing, one means no drinking in camp, one means no drinks or drunks welcome.

Well, I'm not an expert on the situation, but it sounds like there should be warnings on the wet camps instead of the dry ones.

the way i see it the problem wasn't that he couldn't find a dry camp. he could have died.
I like this idea, and think its a good one actually, but i still hope there is some sort of punishment for whoever gave it to him on purpose, or simply didnt care, whether they were too drunk or not.

There will be punsihment from dominion.... nad if i find out who, I have something planned also.

they are not warnings, they are flags of truce. No flag, no safety. i am thinking just a plain simple white flag. be it a pillow case on a stick, or a actually nautical flag...

And there are amazingly fewer dry camps then thier are drinking camps.

I didn't know Micajaah was going by Rellin, so that makes a LOT more sense now. I was about to make a comment that this sounded remarkably like what happened to Micajaah, and now I see why.

I fully and 100% support the idea of marking dry camps, but more importantly, I support the punishing (in some way, shape, or form) of the people who actually DID that to Micajaah. Other than the obvious point of it being extremely dangerous to his health that he got that way, it also ruined the first event he ever attended because he felt so poorly the next day.

I'm sick of Dag events being about wild and drunken behavior. I understand that things like that are going to happen, but it really got on my nerves when Dominion ended battles early so they could go get drunk. I didn't pay $15 to watch people make fools of themselves, I payed $15 to enjoy a full day of fighting. It's sad to say that I was rather disappointed.
The only thing that saved this event for me was the people who were there. All the Havener's, our Fallen Clan friends, and our Alterran buddies really, really made my day awesome.

If I were running these events I probably wouldn't allow alcohol in the campsites. I'd have a time and place for drinking and there would be people there to check identification to prevent underage drinking.

Oh, and randomly, but: Hurin posted the pictures he took from War onto facebook. If you have facebook, click here to see them. There's some good stuff. (:

For the number of times I've been to a Dominion event, this behavior hasn't changed much over the years. The characters of the people who attend these events are there for 1. getting as drunk as humanly possible, 2. being as bawdy, crude, and offensive as humanly possible, and 3. fighting some during the afternoon to shake off the morning's hangover.

I will say that there are those both from Dom and without that are not this way. But these people are becoming a majority at these events. Rellin is a very good friend of mine and after hearing the whole story I'm furious that Mordor did that to him. He was clearly underage and was stopping by camps to be friendly. It ruined the event for him and I take responsibility for not being there earlier to warn him. To those who were there to help him, you have my heart felt thanks.

Everyone who goes to a Dagorhir event expects to see some booze, some nudity, and some weed somewhere. But I would expect to see that done in camps, not displayed for the whole event to see. There were a number of incidents that occurred that made me consider not bringing my sister or myself for that matter back to Gates or War. We all understand that people want to let loose during the weekend and relax. I fully expect those who are of age to drink and smoke. And I wouldn't mind if Haven camp had a beer or two. But it has gotten to the point that we need to be a dry camp to offer a place for people to be who are underage. And with that I'll back you all the way on the marking of dry camps, Orrin.
